11/23/2023 0 Comments Flashcard hero androidMy only criticism of Quizlet is how it suggests answers/definitions for your cards. If you’re trying to learn how to spell words (such as with a foreign language or technical vocabulary), there’s also an option to listen to a computer-generated recording and type what you hear. You can “flip” the cards over to mimic studying paper cards, but you can also study the cards using games or fill-in-the-blank tests. When it’s time to study your cards, Quizlet gives you a variety of options. In addition to text, you can also add images from your computer or Quizlet’s library. Once you sign up, the app makes it simple to start creating cards on the topic of your choice. Overview: A simple flashcard app that emulates the experience of studying paper flashcards.Īre you looking for an app that mimics paper flashcards without a lot of added bells and whistles? Then Quizlet is a great choice. ![]() Pricing: Free (with a Pro version that lets you add images/sounds and study other users’ flashcard decks) This is more or less the same as the spaced repetition system that Anki uses. When you reveal the answer to a question, Brainscape will ask you to rate how well you knew the answer on a scale of 1 (“Not At All”) to 5 (“Perfectly”).īased on your ratings, the app assigns you a “Mastery” score ranging from 0% to 100%, and it will continue to quiz you until you’ve reached a 100% Mastery. Be aware that the free version only allows you to add text you’ll need to upgrade to the Pro version to add images and sounds (the Pro version starts at $9.99 per month).Īfter you’ve created your deck, you can start studying it. Within each class, you can then create decks of flashcards on more specific topics.Ĭreating flashcards in Brainscape is quite easy, with each card’s question in one column and the answer in another. This could be a real class you’re taking, or just a general subject you’re learning. To get started with Brainscape, you’ll need to create a class. ![]() ![]() Overview: A flashcard app that uses spaced repetition, though you’ll need to upgrade to the Pro version to add images and sounds to cards.īrainscape seems like a fairly simple flashcard app on the surface, but it includes some advanced features that are helpful for tracking your progress and ensuring that you’ve learned information thoroughly. Platforms: Android, iOS, Linux, Mac, Windows, Web Brainscape Pricing: Free (except for the iOS app, which is $24.99) If you’re curious to learn more about the principles that Anki is based on, check out our guide to spaced repetition. This way, you spend the most time studying the concepts that are difficult for you and don’t waste time reviewing information you already know. The idea behind this is to review information only when you’re about to forget it. This could be as soon as a few minutes from now or as long as a month. Based on this difficulty rating, Anki will decide when to show you the card again. When you think you have the answer (or if you can’t remember), you flip the card over to reveal it.Īfter you’ve revealed the answer, Anki will ask you to rate how difficult it was for you to recall it. Once you’re ready to study, Anki will show you one side of each card. You then organize these cards into “Decks” based on whatever information you’re trying to learn. To use Anki, you first create a flashcard in the way you’re used to (a term on one side and a definition on the other, for example). While some of the other apps on this list have slicker interfaces and more features, Anki remains superior for helping you learn, retain, and review information. Overview: A powerful flashcard app that uses spaced repetition to make your studies more efficient and effective.Įven after testing many other flashcard apps, Anki remains my top recommendation. Whether you’re studying for a final exam or a standardized test like the GRE, there’s an app on this list that will make your studies easier and more effective. ![]() To save you time, we tested over a dozen flashcard apps and narrowed them down to our five favorites. Since the app stores and internet are flooded with flashcard apps that all claim to be the best, it can be difficult to find the app that’s right for your needs. Plus, they’re a lot easier to manage than a bunch of pieces of paper. You probably made paper flashcards in school, but the right digital apps can make flashcards an even more powerful tool. And one of the most powerful systems is flashcards. To make memorization easier, people have come up with all kinds of systems and techniques. Whether it’s historical dates, medical terms, equations, or quotes from your professor’s favorite TV show, memorizing information can be a challenge. No matter what your major, you’re bound to take a class that requires you to memorize large amounts of information.

They don't have active noise cancellation, which isn't surprising at this price, so if that feature is a must we would point you to the slightly pricier, next-model-up Sony WF-C700N or, if a long battery life is high on your list of priorities, the JBL Live Pro 2 TWS. The C500 are very likeable indeed, and easily the best package you'll find at its very modest price tag. Some alternatives are a punchier and more ‘exciting’ listen, but very few strike a more convincing sonic balance. And yes, you can buy greater outright scale of sound – but you won’t encounter a more complete control app. Yes, the WF-C500 can be bettered (and by quite a margin) for battery life, but you’ll be hard-pushed to find a more comfortable pair. In the WF-C500, Sony has managed to bring a lot of what makes its established premium true wireless in-ears (such as the WF-1000XM4 further down this list) such a success without cutting too many corners too obviously. Easy What Hi-Fi? Award winners.īuilding affordable true wireless in-ear headphones is a different discipline from building expensive ones, but it’s no less tricky. The previous WH-1000XM4 were already the best around – and are still very appealing, by the way, at their now-reduced price – but the XM5 are undoubtedly better for those who can afford them. ![]() Ultimately, if you are looking for a new pair of wireless noise-cancelling headphones and your budget can't stretch to the pricier, superior-sounding Apple AirPods Max, Focal Bathys or Mark Levinson No.5909, your auditioning should certainly start here. None have yet, despite very decent efforts by the Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless and Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S2, which are decent alternatives if you value long battery life (Sennheiser) or more attentive listening (B&W). The Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones might feel a little less premium than the outgoing XM4, but the jump in sound quality from the previous generation is a big one, and rivals once again have their work cut out to beat them. We wondered whether it was a wise move to give one of Sony’s biggest success stories in recent memory – the WH-1000XM4 that came before them – a major redesign. But it's paid off. When we saw the official pictures of the Sony WH-1000XM5 when they arrived last year, we were more than a bit surprised. It can be tricky for a manufacturer to push the sound performance of a product consistently from generation to generation, but that is what Sony has managed to do with the WH-1000XM5 wireless headphones, our new Bluetooth noise-cancelling over-ear favourites. Of over 100 pairs of headphones we review and judge for the What Hi-Fi? Awards every year, this eclectic nine are our absolute favourites. Our expert team of reviewers have thoroughly tested every pair to ensure its audio quality and value for money are up to scratch, so you can trust our buying advice. This is why we’ve created a handy guide detailing the best headphones we’ve tested that you can buy, covering all types and budgets. We’ve lost count of the number of times we’ve received a sample pair of headphones for review that on paper looks amazing but actually fails to deliver the goods when we put them through their paces. Then you’ve got to think about the form factor: do you prefer the comfy isolation of over-ears, the snug fit of in-ear, or the middle ground of on-ear? Do you want the reliable interruption-free boon of a wired connection or the blissful freedom of wireless? Is active noise-cancellation (ANC) important to you or can you happily live without it?īut even after answering those questions, buying blindly without doing proper research to determine how different pairs perform in the real world still puts you at risk of investing in a poor product. There is your budget to think about, of course – that's the easiest part. 11/22/2023 0 Comments Bijou theater knoxville capacityShe had dreadlocks styled in a bun if that helps identify her. If I come back and see her again, I’m turning around and going elsewhere. ![]() She said very abruptly, while I was immediately correcting myself, “no ma’am, wrong door” it was a case of how you say it, not what she said. When it was time to leave, I accidentally headed towards the wrong door but quickly realized it was wrong and started to turn around. Me and my other friends were going to get some beer but that experience had us not do so. There was no one else at the bar, I don’t know why this seemed so troublesome, how busy can it be at 6 pm on a Monday? I’m a server and never complain about bad customer service, but this was exceptionally bad. She audibly sighed and spoke so low she literally couldn’t hear her, so my friend chose a random beer not knowing anything about it. My friend was asking her about the different beers available, coming from out of town, she’s unfamiliar with a lot of local beers and wanted more info. I usually love it here and have almost always had an awesome experience, but the bartender on the rooftop was extremely rude and unpleasant. I came here in the afternoon of Monday June 12 with some of my friends that came from out of town to celebrate my birthday. And her tone to me about the door was nasty but it’s whatever, you'd have to be there to hear her tone cause her words were not the issue, however to make your customers feel like you're annoying them by asking questions is not a good look. I mean, to audibly sigh about a customer asking a question about your product and to speak to her the way she did was awful. Plan accordingly.Īll of that said, we had a good time and may take in another concert in the future.Įdit after reply: I’m really disappointed in your response, you completely glazed over my point about how rude she was to my friend. For two of us, we spent about $100 inside the arena. I would like to suggest to the venue thinks about rerouting some of the exits so everyone feels like they are moving.Ĭosts: Beer was $13, large soda $7, bottle of water $4, pizza (which was very good) $8. waiting for the police to direct us into the flow of exiting traffic. Police were directing traffic which helped but I spent 15 min. It took us 15 min to transit through the arena when leaving and another 30 min. Larger people may not even fit in the seats. If you have bad knees (like my wife) it's almost impossible to stand up from the seat as well. The lack of leg room and the tightness of the seat makes it very difficult to sit for more then an hour. Granted, I could lose some weight but I'm not overly large (size 46 pants) and I could barely fit in the seat. My only complaint/warning is the seats are close together (think flying economy with your knees hitting the back of the chair in front of you with no place to stretch your legs out in front of you) and on the smaller side. ![]() Parking was good (get there early to get a spot - cost was $15). At least they had large projection screens so we could see something besides the back of someone's head.Īttended a concert (Luke Bryan) here on. ![]() Therefore we watched the concert on the TV screens for the most part tonight. You can't see the stage once everyone stands because the floor has no incline. Also, I don't recommend anyone sitting on the floor. Take it from someone who speaks from experience. You won't understand one word of the singer's lyrics from there. And believe me, you don't want to ever sit in the upper deck on the sides of the stage. I know the building is old and smaller, but I always enjoyed the concerts at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum much better than this place. The sound quality in this building is absolutely terrible. As people who showed up late to the concert had seats 1 and 2 purchased, they started moving all of us around right in the middle of the concert and it happened to row after row in front of us and behind us (and to us) and caused us to miss a good part of the concert in all the chaos and people standing and moving. It was later determined that seats 11 and 12 were missing. The ushers all told us that seats one and two were missing and these rows started with seat 3. We had an issue tonight at the Reba concert where some of the rows in the back of the floor had two less seats than the other rows. 11/22/2023 0 Comments 2017 nfl turnover leaders![]() If Week 1 is to be believed, then the Eagles’ passing game may be even more consolidated than their opponent. Philadelphia tends to lean on the run a bit more than the Vikings, but they still find themselves in the upper-right quadrant of the chart above, indicating they still rank among the most pass-happy and uptempo teams in the league. Hockenson, rookie Jordan Addison, and all-world wideout Justin Jefferson. Combine this with the fact that it appears the Minnesota passing attack will remain highly consolidated around their top three options, we can expect plenty of spike weeks from the Vikings’ “core three” of T.J.
